Wheat

Why did the early settlers in Australia plant wheat and why did their crops fail?

    I think the early settlers planted weat because there were a lot of people that came to Australia and if they diden't they would have starved.The crops failed because they diden't know how to plant weat and it died!!!!!

    the answers are
    1. they needed food to survive and then they sold it when they had enough to eat.
    2. the soil in England was different to the soil here,so they died (failed)

  3. early settlers of australia grew wheat because they needed it for bread and the reason their crops failed was because the soil was not good enough

    Early settlers planted their crops for food, but the crops failed because the climate and the soil was different to what they were used to and they used the same technique as they did in England.

    The Early Settlers planted crops for food to survive and the crops failed in England because it was too cold and there was different soil to what they usually used.

    1.in England the soil is different to where they were so they failed.

    2.when they tried to make food they did it the same way as they would in England so their crops died and failed.
